Parent Connections
SEAC (Special Education Advisory Council) serves many roles within the district. One of them is to inform, advise, and support families in order to promote success in school. Students with disabilities are faced with unique challenges that can be difficult to navigate, leaving parents and students confused and frustrated.
SEAC is pleased to announce a brand new initiative we hope will give families another resource and avenue of communication. This initiative is meant to be “informal” and supportive for families. We have assembled a group of parents who have volunteered to answer some of your questions “parent to parent”. This volunteer group is made up of acting SEAC members with a variety of experiences within the district. If your child is new to the district, newly diagnosed, or nearing a transition, it may be helpful and reassuring to speak to someone who has already “walked the same path” and can share their perspective. Below are the names of the parent members along with brief descriptions of their experiences in the district.
